Services: Pregnancy + Postpartum

Pregnancy and the postpartum period are times of profound physical, hormonal, and emotional change. Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, noninvasive approach that may be used as supportive care to promote comfort, regulation, and overall well-being during pregnancy and after birth.

CST is not a replacement for medical, obstetric, or midwifery care, but may be a helpful complement within a collaborative healthcare approach.

  • As the body adapts to pregnancy, changes in posture, movement, and the nervous system can create areas of tension or discomfort. Craniosacral therapy may support pregnant clients by promoting relaxation, ease of movement, and nervous system balance.

    • Low back, pelvic, or hip discomfort

    • Neck and shoulder tension

    • Headaches related to muscular or postural strain

    • General aches associated with biomechanical changes

    Stress & Nervous System Regulation

    • Relaxation and stress reduction

    • Improved sleep quality

    • Emotional regulation during periods of change

    Whole-Body & Pelvic Balance

    • Pelvic mobility and adaptability

    • Ease of movement as pregnancy progresses

    • Overall body awareness

    Preparation for Birth

    • Relaxation and body awareness

    • Nervous system readiness for labor

    • A sense of grounding and resilience

CST does not induce labor and does not replace prenatal medical care.

  • The postpartum period involves recovery from pregnancy and birth, as well as significant lifestyle and hormonal changes. Craniosacral therapy may be used as gentle, supportive care to promote comfort, regulation, and healing after birth.

Common Reasons Clients Seek CST Postpartum

    Physical Recovery

    • Neck, shoulder, and back tension from feeding, holding, and carrying an infant

    • Headaches or jaw tension

    • Whole-body tension following labor and delivery

    • Recovery support after cesarean birth or assisted delivery (in coordination with medical care)

    Nervous System & Emotional Support

    • Stress reduction and relaxation

    • Improved rest when sleep opportunities arise

    • Emotional regulation during hormonal shifts and life transitions

    • A sense of grounding and body awareness

CST is not a treatment for postpartum mood or anxiety disorders, but may be used alongside appropriate mental health and medical support.

    Feeding & Daily Comfort:

    • Comfort during breastfeeding or bottle feeding

    • Ease with feeding positions

    • Reduced physical strain during daily caregiving activities

    Postural & Whole-Body Rebalancing

    • Postural changes following pregnancy

    • Pelvic and spinal tension

    • Adaptation to new movement and lifting demands

It is often used alongside pelvic floor physical therapy, lactation support, and postpartum medical care.

  • What to Expect

Sessions during pregnancy and postpartum are:

    • Gentle, calm, and noninvasive

    • Adapted for comfort, gestational age, and healing stage

    • Individualized based on each client’s needs and preferences

Positioning and techniques are always modified to support safety and comfort.

    Safety & Collaborative Care

Craniosacral therapy is generally considered low risk when provided by a practitioner trained in prenatal and postpartum care. CST should never replace medical evaluation, prenatal care, or postpartum follow-up.

I encourage ongoing collaboration with obstetricians, midwives, pelvic floor physical therapists, lactation consultants, and mental health providers, especially for high-risk pregnancies or complex postpartum needs.

    My Approach

I prioritize gentle, respectful, and collaborative care during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I work alongside families and healthcare providers to support comfort, regulation, and recovery during these important transitions.
